So I FINALLY received my Lime Crime Velvetines lip ‘gloss’ in Red Velvet (£11.50)
If you haven’t heard of Lime Crime, then you really should look into them! They are a super company, all of their products are cruelty free and some of them (including the velvetines) are vegan!
So I had heard a lot about these velvetines, and just knew I needed to try them out!
Basically, you apply as a lip gloss, but it dries completely matte, with a velvet like finish! (Hence the name)
I put this on after work, so the lighting is a bit rubbish, but I was just too excited!
The Red Velvet also has a slight blue tone, which makes your teeth look whiter! (ohhh it just gets better and better)
I know I say this about everything, but it’s amazing!! It’s not drying at all on my lips, but I did make sure my lips were nicely moisturised before trying it. It’s more of a stain texture than anything else, so you can literally do anything, and it won’t come off.
I even did a little test to show you…
Look! No marks left on the glass!
The only time this started to show signs of wear, was after eating an apple, I had a silly amount of Ben and Jerrys… I think the cold and wet combination wore it off from the inside of my lips, but nothing a quick touch up couldn’t fix!
Seriously though, you can do pretty much anything, and this stuff just won’t budge!
The other colour in the range is ‘Suedeberry’ which is more of an orange/red shade, so if you don’t think you can pull off the pure red, start off with this one!
(Red velvet is on top, Suedeberry is below, so yo can compare the two shades)
Oh, and Lime Crime have announced a new colour in the Velvetines range… Pink Velvet! I think we all know how incredible it’s going to be!
I am so glad I stumbled upon this make up range, everything they have is wonderful, you just have to check out their nail varnishes! The colours are just so sweet.
Let me know if anyone has tried anything else from Lime Crime, I’d love to get advice on what else I need to try!
